DMARC
Digital scams are on the rise, with business email compromise scams costing Australian businesses over $81.45 million in the 2020-2021 financial year, an increase of nearly 15 per cent from the previous financial year.
To ensure NSW is prepared to tackle the threat of compromised business emails, the NSW Government has introduced DMARC, a domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance tool.
DMARC authentication ensures that only authorised individuals can send emails using the legitimate NSW Government domain, nsw.gov.au. This ensures that our government remains a trusted sender of email communication and cuts down on the risk of cybercriminals impersonating our Agencies.
DMARC is just one of many steps the NSW Government is taking to protect our community from cyber threats and control email fraud across NSW Government email domains.
