This guideline is intended for NSW government agencies. It is currently under review.

It is a guide to help agencies correctly assess the sensitivity or security of information, so that the information can be marked, handled, stored and disposed of correctly.

This guide shows you how to:

  • apply security classifications using the business impact level tool
  • apply Dissemination Limiting Markers (DLMs)
  • handle information which has a security classification or a Dissemination Limiting Marker.
