CORE Assessment and Compliance Regulatory Platform
This platform brings together the Environment Protection Authority (EPA)'s main regulatory tools into one platform
It includes a customer portal, an officer portal, tools for inspections in the field, and public registers. The goal is to improve customer service, speed up processing, and support better decision-making by making data easier to access and use.
Achievements
The EPA is improving its digital services by adding secure multi-factor authentication to protect customer transactions. It’s also integrating with the Department of Customer Service (DCS) Customer Payment Portal to make credit card payments safer, offer more payment options, and simplify internal payment processing.
An artificial intelligence (AI)-powered image reading tool is being developed to automatically verify the content of photos and documents submitted to the EPA. In addition, the EPA is collaborating with several regulatory partners—like the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI), National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Revenue NSW, Department of Customer Service (DCS), and Local Land Services (LLS) to share information more effectively and boost efficiency across agencies.
Engagement
This project involved engaging with peak industry stakeholder groups including Road Freight NSW, the Radiation Advisory Council, the Australian Environmental Pest Manager Association, and NSW accredited contaminated site auditors.
