Customer Payments Platform (CPP)
For accepting payments online, over the counter, through kiosk, automated phone (IVR) or contract centre.
Scaling Endorsed Core SDA Government Technology Platforms
Overview
The Customer Payments Platform (CPP) was endorsed as a core State Digital Asset on 26th September 2025, following a comprehensive assessment process as per the governance established in the SDA Reuse Policy.
The CPP is a safe, secure, and compliant All-of-Government solution delivering a seamless, multi-channel, and end-to-end payments experience that supports an expanding range of payment methods.
Reuse mandate
NSW Government agencies must use the Customer Payments Platform (CPP) as the platform for managing customer payments across all channels.
What this means for agencies
- Agencies do not use (procure, develop or utilise) alternative payment gateway solutions, and must integrate with CPP to process customer payments.
- Reuse of CPP is supported through the following channels, via the specific integration methods:
- Digital/Online – API gateway; Agency or all-of-government web portals
- Contact Centre (over-the-phone) – Agent-assisted payment via secure web-based interface
- Over the Counter (OTC) – Agency-operated counters using POS terminals
- Kiosk (Self-Serve) – Public-facing kiosk with screen interface
- Interactive Voice Response (IVR) (over-the phone) – Customer interacts via automated phone system
- In-App payments – Customer interacts via Service NSW Mobile App.
- Per the SDA Reuse Policy:
- Agencies may request reuse exemptions from endorsed SDAs
- Agencies that have existing solutions that duplicate capabilities available from endorsed SDAs must contact the SDA owner and plan a logical point for migration, e.g. when existing agency solution is decommissioned.
Next steps
Government agencies looking to understand the capabilities of CPP and how best to integrate those capabilities should visit the CPP website, and connect with the Government Technology Platforms team where assistance is needed.
