Easy Read Style Guide​

Helping NSW Government staff make information accessible and inclusive

The Easy Read Style Guide helps make important information available to everyone in a user-friendly way, enabling people to make informed decisions. Easy Read can assist in providing information to people with intellectual disabilities and is also useful for people with English as a second language, older Australians, people with low literacy, and people with learning disabilities.​

Easy Read benefits everyone by simplifying complex information through plain language, short sentences, and clear messages. The Easy Read Style Guide is part of the NSW Government’s Accessibility and Inclusivity Toolkit, which aims to uplift the capability of the public service to ensure that digital services are accessible and inclusive for everyone in NSW.

Achievements

The Easy Read Style Guide supports the NSW Government in working towards making all government documents that are relevant to people with intellectual disability available in Easy Read format by 2025.
